Except for one short story published in a literary journal a few years ago, An Ovel is my first attempt at publishing fiction. Beyond that, there is little in my biography that is immediately relevant to the book itself. Nevertheless, for what it's worth, here are a few highlights.

I was born and have lived most of my life in Israel; I now live in California, USA. I have previously worked for ten years in medical research (co-authoring over forty published articles about vaccines and infectious diseases) and for twelve more years in computer software programming and computer chip design. Being a novelist will hopefully prove to be my third career. To that end I have spent more than three years writing full time — and An Ovel is the result.

Although my writing style is in no way similar to his, I should probably also mention here that I am the creator and maintainer of one of the leading websites about James Joyce's Finnegans Wake, a website simply known as Fweet.
